Binance releases new app versions periodically to fix bugs, add features, and improve the experience. Running an outdated version can lead to missing features, display issues, or even an inability to open the app. Keeping your app current is essential. Visit the Binance official website for the latest version, or re-download the official Binance app directly. The iPhone update process is slightly different — see the iOS installation guide.
Updating on Android
Android users have two update methods:
Method 1: In-app update
Open Binance. If a new version exists, you will usually see an update prompt at launch. Tap "Update Now" and the app will automatically download and install the new version. This typically takes just a few minutes.
If no prompt appears, check manually: Open the app, tap your avatar in the top left, then Settings > About > Check for Updates.
Method 2: Download the latest APK manually
If the in-app update fails (for example, the download gets interrupted), go to the Binance official website and download the latest APK file. Install it directly to overwrite the old version. Your account data and login session are preserved.
Important notes:
- Back up your Google Authenticator secret key before updating, just in case
- If you see "Package signature mismatch," the current installation may not be official — uninstall first, then install fresh
- If the app crashes after updating, try clearing the app cache before reopening
Updating on iPhone
Updating Binance on iPhone requires your overseas Apple ID:
Method 1: App Store update
Switch to the overseas Apple ID you used to download Binance originally. Open the App Store and find Binance in the "Updates" tab. Tap update. Remember to switch back to your domestic Apple ID afterward.
Method 2: TestFlight update
If you installed via TestFlight, simply open the TestFlight app, find Binance, and tap Update. TestFlight versions usually receive updates faster than the App Store.
Method 3: In-app update
Some Binance versions support downloading update packages directly within the app, bypassing the App Store. Open Binance and check for any update prompts.
Common Update Issues
Cannot log in after updating: Major updates sometimes require re-authentication. Enter your email and password, complete two-factor verification, and you should be in. Use "Forgot Password" if needed.
Interface changed, cannot find features: Binance occasionally redesigns its layout. Features are still there, just relocated. Use the app search function to find what you need quickly.
Update failed midway: Restart the update. If it keeps failing, try a different network. As a last resort, download the latest version manually from the official website.
App became laggy after updating: Possible compatibility issue with your phone OS. Clear the cache first. If still slow, wait for the next patch or report the issue to Binance support.
Enable automatic update checks if available so you are notified as soon as a new version drops. Staying current is not just about new features — security patches are critical, as older versions may have known vulnerabilities.
